Join us for our monthly Hillbark Hike, a free event open to all who love the great outdoors. Whether you’re an experienced hiker or simply looking for a new way to enjoy nature, this scenic guided walk offers the perfect opportunity to explore the beautiful landscapes of the Wirral Peninsula in the company of like-minded adventurers.

The Hillbark Hike is a moderate challenge, covering a mix of woodland trails, open countryside, and coastal paths. Some sections may be muddy or uneven, so appropriate footwear and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended. This is a self-led hike with a friendly group, ensuring that everyone can walk at a comfortable pace and enjoy the journey together.
The adventure begins at 10:15 AM at the Hillbark Fountain, where walkers will gather before setting off on an 8-mile circular route through some of the Wirral’s most scenic locations. The hike will take you through the picturesque Royden Park, past the historic Heswall Dungeon, and, tide permitting, along the sandy stretches of Thurstaston Beach, before ascending Caldy Hill, offering stunning panoramic views. The walk is expected to take approximately three to four hours, including rest stops along the way.
