Darkly decadent, playfully green, and perfectly theatrical, this Wicked-inspired menu brings a twist of mystery and mischief to your autumn plans. Expect spellbinding sweets, enchanting savouries, and just the right touch of emerald magic—ideal for Halloween gatherings, witchy-themed bridal parties, or simply treating your favourite Glinda or Elphaba to something special.

This summer, prepare to embark on a swashbuckling adventure as Off the Ground Theatre celebrates its 30th year of touring with a bold new production of Treasure Island. Returning to venues across the North West, Wales, and Ireland, this beloved company will bring Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic pirate tale to life right on our doorstep—at Royden Park on 1st and 2nd August.
A story of mystery, danger, and buried gold, Treasure Island follows young Jim Hawkins, a boy captivated by tales of pirates and longing for a life of adventure. When his family falls on hard times, he finds himself swept into a high-seas escapade alongside the infamous Long John Silver and his unruly crew. This fresh adaptation offers a modern twist, exploring how influencer culture can seduce young minds into perilous ideals—making this a relevant, thrilling retelling for all generations.
Set amidst the scenic beauty of Royden Park, the performances will take place outdoors, offering a truly immersive theatrical experience beneath the summer sky. Visitors are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, or picnic rugs to get comfortable, and to dress for the weather—performances will continue in most conditions, but may be cancelled in the event of severe rain or storms.

Hillbark Hotel was delighted to welcome back one of its most cherished and long-standing guests this week — Charles, who celebrated his 106th birthday in the elegance of our iconic Dining Room.
A true gentleman and friend of the hotel, Charles has made Hillbark his destination of choice for many years, choosing to mark each birthday in the place he holds so dear. His annual visit has become a tradition not just for him, but for the entire team who look forward to his warmth, wit, and incredible life stories.
Charles has always had a special fondness for the Dining Room, where he enjoys a classic Afternoon Tea, beautiful surroundings, and the attentive service that makes every guest feel like royalty. His birthday celebration wouldn’t be complete without the musical talents of resident pianist Graham, who performed a selection of Charles’ favourite tunes on the piano.
“It’s an honour to host Charles every year,” said a member of the Hillbark team. “He embodies everything we celebrate at Hillbark, and we’re proud to help make life’s milestones truly special.”

This summer, step back in time and join us at Hillbark Hotel & Spa for a truly memorable afternoon filled with music, nostalgia, and timeless charm. On Sunday 27th July, we proudly welcome the D-Day Darlings to the stage for a special live performance, paired with a Hillbark famous afternoon tea.
As finalists on Britain’s Got Talent, the D-Day Darlings have captured the nation’s hearts with their heartfelt renditions of wartime songs and impeccable vintage style. Their uplifting harmonies, 1940s costumes, and warm stage presence take audiences on a musical journey through one of the most iconic eras in British history. From “We’ll Meet Again” to “White Cliffs of Dover,” the Darlings pay tribute to the spirit of the wartime generation, and this special event offers an opportunity to enjoy their performance in an atmospheric and intimate setting.
To complement the entertainment, guests will enjoy afternoon tea which is included in each ticket price.
