Let’s face it, between the dreary weather recently and the general negativity in the news, we could all do with a good laugh right now. And that is why stand-up comedy is such a crucial staple of British culture. You can sit back and forget about whatever is on your mind and just have a giggle until your sides are sore. There are plenty of first-class comedy shows heading to Liverpool this March, and here we have picked out some of the best!
We begin with an opportunity to see Greg Davies and his Full Fat Legend tour. The former schoolteacher is one of the funniest men that you will ever meet, with a collection of great stories, a sharp mind, and a willingness to send himself up for the good of a joke. Greg Davies comes to the M&S Bank Arena on Wednesday 25 March.
Next up, we take a short trip into the city centre towards the Empire Theatre, and the latest tour for Russell Howard. His friendly nature belies a dark sense of humour for one of the country’s most experienced comedians. Russell has done it all, and his latest tour Don’t Tell The Algorithm brings together a range of anecdotes that will have the audience in hysterics. Russell Howard performs at the Empire Theatre from Sunday 15 March to Thursday 19 March.
And we cannot forget about the multi-talented Chris Ramsey. The Geordie native has achieved so much in recent years and pops up everywhere, from The One Show to his highly popular podcast. But stand-up comedy remains his first love, and it is a treat to watch him do his thing live. Chris Ramsey brings his show Here, Man to the Empire Theatre on Thursday 19 March.
If you are heading to Liverpool for any stand-up comedy shows, be sure to speak with our team. We can arrange transportation to and from the city, as well as providing a great night’s sleep for you to relax your chuckle muscles after the show. Check out the upcoming comedy shows and get in touch with our team for the best accommodation possible!

Every month, we take the time to reflect on the strong heritage of Hillbark Hotel & Spa with our History Tour, which includes Afternoon Tea. The next History Tour is fast approaching for anyone who wishes to come along on Monday 21 March from 11:00 to 14:00. Visitors are in for a real treat!
Our incredible five-star hotel, Hillbark Hotel & Spa, was built 135 years ago, in 1891. The hotel is a real landmark of the North-West, and acts as a symbol of unity from two of the Wirral’s most influential families, who joined forces to build this fantastic complex. Its history has evolved in many ways since then, and that is what this tour celebrates.
The tour starts off with morning tea/coffee and homemade pastries. After an introduction from our tour guide, Dominga, we take a stroll through the historic building and hotel grounds (note that staircases are required to see some areas). The walking tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. Proceedings will conclude at around 12:45 with our themed Afternoon Tea, marking a fitting end to a fantastic day.
Along the way, you will learn so much about a hotel that has impacted so many people’s lives since the 19th century. You will learn interesting facts and discover the importance of those who laid the foundations for the splendid hotel that we have in 2026.
The History Tour costs £95.00 per person, and all attendees have as much time as they need to take photographs of our iconic complex.

There is plenty of choice if you are looking to find a concert this March. With that in mind, we will now take a closer look at what is coming up!
To start with, we must give a special shoutout to The Drifters. This iconic group first came onto the scene in the 1960s. And while there have been many new members along the way, the spirit remains from the golden days. All the big hits are here, such as Under The Boardwalk, Sand In My Shoes, and Come On Over To My Place. The Drifters will perform at The Auditorium at M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool on Saturday 21 March.
Next up, we have one of the biggest names on the planet, Harry Styles. The former One Direction star has become a musical icon, and he is coming to Manchester for one night only. This will be an intimate and memorable performance from someone who has achieved so much and yet is still only scratching the surface of what he could accomplish. Harry Styles comes to the Co-op Arena in Manchester on Friday 6 March.
Finally, we come to Reneé Rapp. The American singer and songwriter has become a real star in recent years, and she is embarking on her biggest European tour to date, which includes visits to various venues across the UK. As part of this, Reneé brings her considerable talents to Manchester’s AO Arena, and she will perform there on Wednesday 18 March.

As the football season moves into its decisive spring period, supporters across the North West have plenty to look forward to. From new stadium chapters to historic grounds steeped in legacy, March offers a series of fixtures that promise atmosphere, anticipation and memorable moments.
In Liverpool, it remains a landmark season for Everton F.C. as the club continues its first campaign at Hill Dickinson Stadium. The 52,000-seat waterfront venue has quickly established itself as one of the most striking new arenas in English football. With European ambitions still in sight, upcoming home fixtures against Burnley F.C. on Tuesday 3 March (7.30pm) and Chelsea F.C. on Saturday 21 March (5.30pm) carry added significance for the Toffees.
Across Stanley Park, Liverpool F.C. continue their pursuit of silverware under Arne Slot. Few venues in world football rival the atmosphere of Anfield, where history and expectation combine in equal measure. March sees Liverpool host Tottenham Hotspur F.C. on Sunday 15 March (4.30pm), while later in the month the club welcomes Borussia Dortmund Legends for a special charity fixture against Liverpool Legends on Saturday 28 March (3pm), an occasion that blends nostalgia with purpose.
Meanwhile, in Manchester, Manchester United F.C. are enjoying renewed optimism as they compete for a Champions League place. Old Trafford, long known as the Theatre of Dreams, remains one of the game’s most iconic stages. Home fixture Aston Villa F.C. on Sunday 15 March (2.00pm) offers supporters the chance to witness a pivotal period in the campaign.
For those travelling to matches, Hillbark Hotel & Spa provides a calm and refined base within the grounds of Royden Park. Conveniently positioned for both Liverpool and Manchester, the hotel offers a peaceful retreat following the intensity of matchday. Transport to and from stadiums can be arranged, alongside airport transfers from Liverpool John Lennon Airport or Manchester Airport. For guests arriving privately, an on-site helipad ensures a seamless experience.
After ninety minutes of drama, returning to tranquil surroundings, considered dining in The Dining Room and a relaxed evening in Contessa’s Bar offers a welcome contrast to the energy of the stands. As the season reaches its defining weeks, there is no better time to combine top-flight football with a stay that balances excitement with comfort.
